As of the Ragstone release, when UDB is performing a time-travel operation that takes more than a short period to complete it will display a progress indicator, showing an estimate of how much of the work to travel is complete.
“Time-travel operations” includes things like
ugo commands to move to a different point in the recording, or reverse-execution commands such as
reverse-continue. Internally, we refer to these as “searches” because the Replay Engine effectively needs to perform a search in the recording for the correct conditions to stop, whether those conditions are as simple as “time is exactly as specified” or rather more complex like, “the last place in the recording where any breakpoint or watchpoint would trigger between points A and B.”
